This was a show from Aug. 19 outdoors at Wilson Park in the band's home base of Florence (Muscle Shoals area). The band was opening for John Paul White, who was debuting his new CD "The Long Goodbye." That torrent should come later tonight! This set includes some of my favorite Lauderdale tunes.
Due to some last minute work duties, I was unable to make the show but my 19-year-old son (Son of MSTaper) ran the rig for me. I think he did a good job and this turned out to be a very sweet Lauderdale recording. I love this band and they're even better when they play behind a good sound system.
Look for a new release by Lauderdale in the near future!
If you don't already know, Lauderdale is a great indie band from the Muscle Shoals area of Northwest Alabama. They've been slowly gaining notoriety in the southeast, building some momentum as they pick up shows in the region. They are part of a growing, diverse Shoals music scene that includes artists like Jason Isbell, Sons of Roswell, The Fiddleworms, John Paul White, Seance Fiction, BoomBox, Red Mouth, Doc Daily, Planet Ink, Flux and others. If they come to your town, check them out and always, support indie music, buy a shirt, buy a disc, thank the band.
